There are 62 public toilets in Bayside. Each one has been inspected and assessed by an independent consultant, against several criteria. We have identified 20 of these toilets as highest priority for upgrade or renewal.

The assessment process scored each toilet on a scale of 1-5, focusing on:

  • Demand - a higher score for high profile facilities, that are regularly used
  • Performance - a higher score for facilities in poor condition or not meeting needs
  • Disability Access - a higher score for facilities that do not meet relevant standards
  • Safety - a higher score for isolated facilities, or those believed to be unsafe.

We'd like your feedback on the assessment scores given to the following public toilets (refer to table below).

In the draft Strategy, we are proposing to add new facilities for people with a disability, to three existing public toilets:

  • Ricketts Point (bluestone toilet) in Beaumaris
  • Thomas Street Reserve in Hampton
  • North Point in Brighton.

The new facilities would include an adult sized change table, a hoist, and a shower.

We have suggested building a new public toilet at Green Point, in Brighton. Are there any other locations where a new public toilet is needed?
