New lease for Brighton Life Saving Club

At its December meeting, Council granted a new lease to Brighton Life Saving Club Inc. (BLSC) for the occupation of part of the new Dendy Street Beach Pavilion on the following terms:

Site: Brighton Life Saving Club

Tenant: Brighton Life Saving Club Inc.

Purpose: Primarily to provide lifesaving and emergency services to the community (such as education, training, first aid, observation, administration, amenities, storage etc) and may include uses such as:

  • social activities
  • fundraising appeals and community and charitable gaming, as defined by and in accordance with the Gambling Regulation Act 2013
  • club-run commercial activities and approved third-party commercial uses

Premises: Brighton Life Saving Club as identified in the plan

Term: 21 Years

Commencing Annual Rent: $3,294 plus GST

Rent Escalation: Fixed increases of 3% per annum.

This lease will enable the Brighton Life Saving Club to continue delivering their essential life-saving activities from the new Dendy Street Beach Pavilion, benefiting the Bayside community, and improving the visitor experience at the iconic Dendy Beach and Brighton Bathing Boxes.
