About this project
We’re preparing a plan to conserve, manage and protect the Highett Grassy Woodland.
Located in the south of the former CSIRO site on Graham Road, the Woodland will be an important site for conserving and regenerating habitat for rare or threatened flora and fauna species in Bayside.
Following close collaboration with the Friends of Highett Grassy Woodland and ecological experts we prepared a draft Masterplan that shows how the site could look and be enjoyed in the future. We then asked the community to help refine it.
Who we heard from
112 community members participated in the consultation between 24 April and 19 May 2024.
We received 101 Have Your Say surveys, 3 written statements and 8 emails sent to the project team.
We also held on-site meetings with the Friends of Highett Grassy Woodland, representatives from the Highett Progress Association, Convenors from various ‘Friends of Bayside’ groups and representative Members of Parliament.
We’ve summarised feedback below, or you can read the complete report.
