Project updates
Activation of Council Land Policy
The popularity of food trucks, coffee carts, pop-ups and other mobile services has risen in recent years. Mobile businesses can provide services in locations where it may not be possible (or very costly) to build infrastructure, and vendors can operate seasonally and based on demand.
Council frequently receives enquiries from vendors interested in applying for a permit to operate in Bayside. Currently, four mobile vending sites are licensed along the foreshore, and Council has identified an opportunity to introduce mobile vending at additional locations.
We’re drafting an Activation of Council Land Policy to facilitate additional mobile trading opportunities in suitable locations, and we’re seeking suggestions for new locations and services at the new sites.
