Consultation extended – draft North Road Foreshore Masterplan

We have extended the consultation on the draft North Road Foreshore Masterplan to February 17. Now you have even more time to have your say on proposed changes to enhance the Brighton foreshore precinct which include:

  • improvements to North Point Café
  • selective individual tree planting to provide more shade throughout the foreshore reserve
  • steps to access the water at North Road
  • improvements to foreshore garden beds through replanting with appropriate coastal species
  • new access and equitable parking arrangements at North Road boat ramp
  • more consistent lighting on the Bay Trail to enhance safety and access
  • effective stormwater management
  • coastal erosion protection
  • potential fencing of small areas of the Sandown Street dog beach to protect vulnerable plant species.

Consultation on the Bay Trail duplication has not been extended. A report will be presented to the Council meeting on 19 February 2019. Members of the public are welcome to ask a question or to speak to the report by registering on our website: bayside.vic.gov.au
