At the December 2025 meeting, Council considered the draft Aquatics Strategy.

Councillors unanimously moved to:

• note the draft Aquatics Strategy
• proceed to Stage 2 of the process, including consideration of future locations and concept designs for future aquatics provision
• include consideration of the existing Tulip Street location for any new aquatics facility
• include consideration of the original warm water pool design, including but not limited to the location of Brighton Golf Course as part of the future Strategy
• offer the purchase of annual memberships to nearby warm water pool facilities for eligible residents for the next 12-month period, via an expression of interest process.

Stage 2 community consultation on the draft Aquatics Strategy will take place in 2026.
