Trader update 9: 14 January 2020

14 January 2020

Back to work

Works have officially re-started for 2020 and the end is in sight. Last week our contractors, Balmain and Co, concentrated on the north/south car spaces (adjacent to the Concourse Green) and the crossover works at each end.

Upcoming works

From 13 – 24 January, the central car park crossovers (entering from East Concourse) will be closed to be re-constructed. The central car park can still be accessed from the North Concourse and South Concourse.

Edith Street will need to close to traffic until 31 January while East Concourse works at the Edith Street intersection are taking place. During this time, the contractors will be doing crossover works with the decorative stone paving (exposed aggregate), which will take 21 days to cure (weather permitting).

Throughout January, furniture placement will occur in the Concourse Green and throughout the Concourse.

Council would also like to remind you that during the week of 20 January the concrete seats will be installed. This will involve a crane and large truck operating after the 9am to 5pm trading hours, so there may be some temporary traffic disruptions and traffic management for safety reasons during this period.

Completion date

In February, we will complete the finishing touches on the works and Council will go over any defects carefully with the contractor, as is the usual practice with construction projects.

Once again we thank traders and visitors for their patience during the works and wish everyone a successful and prosperous New Year!
