Disability Access and Inclusion Advisory Committee update

22 February 2021

Council has received a great response with 30 Expressions of Interest received. The number, quality and diversity of the expressions of interest has been high – as has the generous spirit with which community members have offered their time and personal experience to help improve disability access and inclusion considerations for the Bayside community.

Within the Terms of Reference we have identified that the selection criteria for the eight community member committee positions will be based on ensuring members are representative of the diversity of disability, have strong links to Bayside, and active and broad community connections. Membership will aim for a group representing a range of interests/expertise, ages, gender, cultures, and geographic locations across the municipality.

Community Committee members will be decided by Council at its meeting on Tuesday 16 March 2021. We will keep you informed of the outcome.

We’re committed to creating an accessible and inclusive environment for all Committee members and will work with successful applicants to ensure they have any supports required to participate.
