Council's communication should be accurate, timely, relevant and easy to understand. We want our residents to be aware of, and understand, Bayside City Council's decisions, services and policies.

Council also regularly seeks feedback on plans and ideas before decisions become final, through face-to-face meetings, information sessions and informal discussions. Our online engagement tool, Have Your Say, is used to reach a varied audience.

We use a number of different tools and materials to distribute our messages and seek participation including:

  • Lets Talk Bayside, bi-monthly magazine distributed to every home
  • Fliers, post cards and posters
  • Letters directly to households
  • Emails to mail list subscribers
  • Social media such as Facebook

It is also important that we produce and distribute our communications materials in the most environmentally responsible means, taking into consideration the target audience.

We want to hear from you what your preferences are for receiving information relating to different types of projects. The information gathered through this consultation will be used to inform our decisions on communication materials used for various projects and messages.
