Outcome of Planning and Amenity Meeting

At the Planning and Amenity Meeting held on Tuesday 11 August 2020 Council considered the planning permit application to support the proposal to build Fern Street Children’s Centre at 2– 6 Fern Street.

At the meeting Council resolved to:

1. Defer the consideration of planning application 2020/176/1 for the land know as 2- 6 Fern Street, Black Rock which seeks to use the land for a child care centre, medical centre and place of assembly, the construction of a single storey building, the removal of vegetation and a reduction in the car parking requirement, to a future Planning and Amenity Delegated Committee Meeting;

2. Requires the applicant to submit a ‘Car Parking Management Plan’ and ‘Public Works Plan’ consistent with the proposed requirements of conditions 19 and 21 respectively for the consideration by the Planning and Amenity Delegated Committee prior to it determining planning application 2020/176/1; and

3. Conducts a consultation meeting for all parties to gain greater clarity regarding the application prior to the report being presented to a future meeting of the Planning and Amenity Delegated Committee.

Following this decision, Council’s Statutory Planning Department will arrange a virtual consultation between objectors and the applicant (Council) in the coming weeks to discuss the application.
