Peterson Reserve Public Art Project

Project scope

The scope of this project is to:

  • commission and contract an artist to create a public artwork that is sympathetic to the uses of the reserve which is positioned near the southeast corner of the Reserve.
  • undertake community consultation to ensure community feedback is incorporated into the Artist's Brief as part of the Expressions of Interest process fro selecting an artist
  • ensure an ongoing maintenance schedule is in place
  • arrange a launch for the artwork and appropriate media to communicate the intent of the work.

Project impacts

The sculpture will be erected in the south west corner of Peterson Street Reserve in close proximity to the skate park. It will be a permanent fixture that will be visible to park users, neighbours and passersby.

Decision making process

Feedback gathered from the community and park users, the Artist's Brief will outline the themes, materials and type of artwork to be installed. The selection of the artist and the artwork will be made by a panel of industry experts, including the Arts Advisory Committee and Council officers.
