Council has reviewed the Bayside Road Safety Strategy, adopted in 2014. The strategy was developed to guide the implementation of road safety activities within Bayside for a five year period. The aim of the strategy is to reduce the number of fatalities and injuries on our road and path network so that people of all ages and abilities can travel safely, easily and confidently within Bayside.

Now we have reached the end of the five year period, a review of the actions in the strategy is required to assess:

  • Have they been completed?
  • Are they still relevant?
  • Are there new actions we need to add?
  • What are the priorities for the next five years?

Community and key stakeholders we able to comment on the draft revised strategy to make sure we have got it right and haven’t missed anything until 22 May 2019. The new strategy will be valid for another five years.

It is anticipated that the draft Road Safety Action Plan will be considered at the Ordinary Meeting of Council on 25 June 2019.
