At its June 2025 meeting, Council adopted the 10-year Coastal and Marine Management Plan (CMMP).

Led by Victorian Government legislation (Marine and Coastal Act 2018 and the Marine and Coastal Policy 2020), the CMMP strategically prioritises competing demands and guides actions for sustainable management and use of Bayside’s coastal and marine environment.

The CMMP provides direction on:

• roles and responsibilities
• planning and management of coastal and marine based facilities
• infrastructure and activities
• the retention of coastal character
• management of coastal environmental processes
• stakeholder, community and commercial partnerships
• the health and wellbeing connection to Bayside’s marine and coastal environment.

The adopted plan will now be provided to the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) for endorsement. We anticipate a response in 2026.
