The Art Studios building does not meet the current needs of the Beaumaris Art Group regarding room size, accessibility and safety standards.

The architect is working through a number of options with the users to expand the Art Group Studios to meet current and future needs. Retaining elements of the façade; protecting valuable trees, vegetation and open space; telco infrastructure; workplace safety compliance, all abilities access and providing suitable light for painting and drawing are important factors being considered.

A report is currently being prepared assessing the heritage value of the precinct and this will be presented to Council in February 2020.

The future of the Art Group Studios building is on hold until the outcome of the heritage report. Council will consider the heritage significance of the precinct the implications for the design options for the Arts Group building and Tennis Club facilities before proceeding with the design process.
