Brighton East Streetscape works update

7 November 2019

Council is pleased to report that the works at Brighton East Village are on track. We have successfully installed the new underground water storage systems in Hawthorn Road and Clive Street and works are currently underway to enhance the streetscape along the eastern side of the shopping centre.

These works include upgrading the footpaths with new concrete paving, planting new garden beds and additional street trees and installing new street furniture.

We are also currently undertaking works to connect the new storm water storage tanks to the outfall drainage system along Nepean Hwy Service Lane. Final drainage connection works are expected to be completed by the end of December, pending final asset relocation works by service authorities. This aspect of the project will have minimal impact on the centre.

Council coordinating with NBN install

The NBN roll-out has been completed in the activity centre. Council has worked closely with NBN authority

to bring forward NBN installation works in the area to ensure smooth coordination with our streetscape

improvements.

Your patience is appreciated

While Council is pleased with the works at Brighton East and the speed at which it is being delivered, we

understand that this is a disruption to traders and the normal flow of the centre and the street. Council appreciates the cooperation being provided to our contractors to facilitate the works being completed quickly and efficiently.
