As you will have noticed, the drainage and streetscape works in the Brighton East Village have been temporarily put on hold.

We are currently working to find a solution to connect the drainage works along the Nepean Highway with those carried out in the Hawthorn Rd streetscape. Despite our best efforts and planning, some complex service clashes were discovered onsite and as such have made the works unsafe to proceed.

We are progressing with an alternate drainage design that requires further investigation before the rest of the construction work can proceed. Once we have a clear design solution Council Officers will liaise with traders to ensure we complete these works with minimal disruption to business.
