Council to consider feasibility analysis on Hampton Hub concepts

24 June 2023

Council will consider a report on the Hampton Hub at its 27 June meeting, including a recommendation to conduct feasibility analysis on four design options for the Willis Street precinct.

Since the Hampton Public Land Masterplan was adopted in June 2021, further consultation with Hampton stakeholders has identified additional scenarios that warrant exploration to ensure we’re delivering the best outcomes for our community. These scenarios, which include reconfiguring land use, could potentially provide for more open space, and improved accessibility and functionality within the precinct.

If supported by Council, feasibility analysis would be conducted by an independent multi-disciplinary consultant team to provide specialist advice on land reconfiguration options, and associated opportunities and costs. Council would consider a report on this analysis by its December 2023 meeting to enable the progression of concept designs.

The Hampton Public Land Masterplan was developed through extensive community consultation on a new integrated community hub to connect current community services and programs in Hampton in one facility.

A centralised intergenerational hub will provide a place for the Hampton community to gather, enjoy new public open space and access community services and transport options, and foster an inclusive, accessible, and vibrant urban environment.
