Yes - especially Highett CSIRO. If features that woud suit older kids (eg basketball/netball hoop, tennis wall) were included that would be great

Yes. I am a resident of Highett with 3 young kids, and there are limited open spaces near the Highett village / train station precinct. A new park at the CSIRO site would be very welcome, especially if its surrounded by those beautiful trees and has picnic tables, somewhere the whole family can enjoy (not just a playground).

Yes we support and would love to see a new park in the highett CSRIO site. What about a skate bowl, basketball/ netball hoops, BBQ's. More parkland in this world is not a bad thing. Make it happen bayside council

Absolutely. We need more, adventurous play options for kids in this area. we also need to have outdoor exercise equipment for adults

Can the council please make sure they "buy local" when purchasing new equipment. There are some great playground companies not far away

There don't seem to be many playgrounds around that cater to all abilities. It would be great to have something that everyone could use...no matter how capable they are

I agree with the St. James park proposal

Great idea re Highett - all the playgrounds seem to be far away from the shops, and the 'train park' on the train line often seems to be littered with alcohol cans and graffiti and I don't like to use it that much

Absolutely. I'd love to see Bayside reflect it's natural strengths in an imaginative play-based way for the kids. There's some fabulous new playgrounds emerging - stand-outs that spring to mind are the Royal Park Nature Play Playground in Parkville, and the playground on Murchison St Marysville. The way the playground and the landscape interact make them delightful spaces. Great opportunity to bring some of that to Bayside.

Absolutely, open spaces are wonderful for fostering community connectedness, social inclusion, and encouraging more time outdoors which has been shown to have health benefits.
