Our trusty pirate helpers were keen to see more natural elements with stepping stones, rocks and timber at Donald MacDonald playground. The playground designers have responded and added some horizontal balance logs, timber climbing posts and some tee pee cubby units. Water play was highly regarded by the junior pirates so a water pump will feed into a dry creek bed for nature based play. A ninja warrior course was requested, so the draft design features an obstacle course connected to a new tower unit with new monkey bars and a new flying fox. Our little Baysiders found the old sandpit boring so we have added a nature play area with boulders and a digger. There are also platforms with play panels next to a wheelchair accessible rubber pathway to make sure everyone can play. And the mums and dads haven’t been forgotten either because they asked for more seats so we have added a few new benches.
