Council adopts the renewed Road Management Plan

21 May 2025

At the 20 May 2025 meeting, Council adopted the new Road Management Plan (RMP).

The RMP defines Council’s road management processes and maintenance standards, and is a key document used in the processing of public liability claims against Council. While roads are the focus, the RMP also defines processes to help ensure footpaths, kerb and channel, bridges, and other road management infrastructure are in safe and good condition.

As required under the Road Management Act 2004, we reviewed the former Road Management Plan following the election of our new Council in October 2024, and undertook community engagement on the new draft plan.

The consultation reached a broad audience with 590 visitors to the Have Your Say project page, and 28 participants providing feedback. The volume of submissions was consistent with previous ‘regular’ reviews of the Road Management Plan.
