We're proposing to build a public warm water pool for exercise, treatment, swim lessons and general use, complemented by a private wellness centre at Brighton Golf Course.

To understand if either of these proposals should proceed, we asked our community if they would use either facility, preferred services and facilities, what they saw as the benefits and challenges and their overall level of support.

This feedback is essential to help Council decide whether to progress with the proposal(s), and then inform the design, management and use of any future facility.

Work is underway on the following reports, which would be required to progress the project to Stage 2 – design development:

  • Release of select tender for project architect
  • Continued negotiations with LMS concerning lease, management model and hours of usage priorities.

Next steps

Council will consider community feedback on the public warm water pool and private wellness centre proposals at its meeting on 28 June 2022.

If the proposal(s) continue to be supported by Council, work will commence on the concept designs, management model and hours of use of the public warm water pool.

Following this, a second phase of community engagement would be expected to commence in October 2022. This would focus on the design of the warm water pool and how it will be managed and operated.
