Invitation to Delegated Committee Meeting

A Delegated Committee of Council Meeting has been convened to hear from submitters to the draft Post-War Modern Residential Heritage Study.

Council undertook consultation on the draft Post-War Modern Residential Heritage Study from 7 February – 30 April 2022 and received feedback from property owners and key stakeholders which has greatly assisted the revision of the Study. An opportunity is now provided to make a written statement and/or request to be heard for 3 minutes at this Committee Meeting.

The Delegated Committee Meeting will be held over two evenings at Council Chamber, Civic Centre at Boxshall Street, Brighton

  • Wednesday 15 June 2022 commencing at 5.30pm – to hear from property owners affected by the Heritage Study
  • Thursday 16 June 2022 commencing at 5.30pm – to hear from any other individuals or groups/organisations wishing to speak in more general terms to heritage.

The revised Study and Phase 1 Consultation Report (which includes of a summary of key matters raised in submissions and an officer’s response) attached to this Agenda. Please read the revised Study prior to registering your attendance at the Delegated Committee Meeting.

Those that have registered to speak will be ushered into the Chamber based on the order of speakers, noting a maximum of 25 members of the public are permitted at any one time. Council officers will assist the movement of speakers to ensure those wishing to speak will be present in the Chamber prior to their allocated speaking time.

Access to the public gallery for the Delegated Committee Meeting is open to speakers only; however, admittance may need to be staggered and waiting areas utilised.

Council officers will be present to ensure registered speakers are present in the gallery when their name is called to speak. You may also lodge a written statement for consideration. There is no limitation on the number of speakers or written statements permitted to this meeting. However, each speaker is granted 3 minutes each to speak.
