Proposed LED lighting upgrade

We're proposing to upgrade the lighting at Dendy Park to meet Australian standards for community sports competition and training purposes.

Proposal includes

  • use of the 9 existing poles
  • removal of existing halide luminaires
  • installation of 45 new LED luminaires
  • compliance with Council’s environmental sustainability framework to reduce our carbon footprint.

The lighting system will be automatically controlled to ensure suitable hours of operation and timing.

Project funding

This project is subject to a Council’s budget review process. It is proposed for the 2025-2026 capital works program. To assist with funding the proposed LED lighting project, Council is applying for a Sport and Recreation Victoria grant.

Project benefits

  • Energy efficiency

LED lighting supports the increasing need for sustainable and energy efficient systems.

  • Cost reduction

We expect a 65% reduction in operational costs.

  • Illuminance

Smart LED lighting will maximise sportsground illuminance and minimise impact on the surrounding area.

  • Improved coverage

    Increasing main pitch standard lighting.
