Our small shopping strips provide daily conveniences, local employment and services. They are the places where you might pick up your milk and bread, see the hairdresser or dentist or grab a coffee with a friend.
Council identified an additional small neighbourhood activity centre that required design guidelines - the area south of Milroy Street, East Brighton abutting Nepean Highway. In September 2013 and March 2014 Council received feedback on the 33 areas defined as a small neighbourhood activity centres.
At the June 2014 Council Meeting, Council resolved to:
- note the community and stakeholder feedback received;
- confirms the recommended Council position in response to the submissions; and
- adopts the Bayside Small Activity Centres Strategy (June 2014) subject to a number of detailed changes.
